Let us become your mental health provenance to better mental well-being
About Us

Provenance Psychiatry

At Provenance Psychiatric Services, we recognize the growing importance of mental health in our everyday lives. Our society is increasingly acknowledging the significance of mental well-being, and this shift is a crucial step in destigmatizing mental health issues. Our practice is dedicated to advancing this evolution in perspective and care. We're continuously looking for new ways to help people with mental health problems. We don't just want to treat the symptoms, we want to understand each person's unique story. We believe that reaching a state of 'provenance'—a point of understanding the origins and narrative of one's mental health journey—is the stepping stone to recovery. Once this state of provenance is achieved, recovery can begin, informed by a deeper understanding and acceptance of one's experiences and identity. We're here to help you on your journey, offering a safe and kind space to understand and work through your experiences. We believe in your ability to get better and we'll support you each step of the way.

For out-of-state patients, in-person appointments may be required on a case-by-case basis. We strive to maintain flexibility in meeting and accommodating our patients' needs.

How does communication work in between sessions?

To streamline communication between sessions, Provenance Psychiatry utilizes a secure, Electronic Health Record system (Osmind). Our system is compatible with mobile devices and uses an encrypted application that fulfills all HIPAA requirements, ensuring safe and efficient communication as per patients' needs.

Can I use my insurance at Provenance?

At this time, Provenance does not bill through insurance, although we plan to accept most major insurance carriers in the future. Understanding the financial concerns of our patients, we can provide superbills for patients to submit to their individual insurance companies for potential reimbursement.

What forms of payment does the practice accept?

We currently accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, checks, and ACH transactions.

Are you hiring and do you work with trainees?

As a newly established psychiatric provider in the Blue Ridge area, we are planning future collaborations with local universities and schools. These partnerships will provide training and educational opportunities, enhancing our commitment to the community and the field of mental health.
